Attendance is a licensing record before it is a convenience. Attend keeps one, per environment, per day.

What it does
Three things, done properly.
The same shape holds whether a school has three environments or thirty: a register per environment rather than per school, permissions scoped to the environments each Guide is assigned to, staff who can be assigned across more than one, and one school calendar underneath all of it.
Attendance, every morning
Mark a Child present, absent or late in one tap. One screen per environment, taken by the Guide who is already standing in it.

Environments and their capacity, each Child and who may collect them, staff and their assignments, and the school calendar with your terms and closures.
Records you can stand behind
One record per environment, per day. Nothing to reconcile on a Friday afternoon and nothing to copy into a spreadsheet.

Who built it
The same hands that make the materials made the software.
Childrens House has spent years designing and manufacturing Montessori materials: getting the weight of a bead bar right, the finish on a Pink Tower cube right, the tolerance on a set of Knobbed Cylinders right. A material has to be exact, beautiful and quiet enough to disappear behind the work.
Attend is built to the same standard. It is designed and made by Montessorians, and it holds itself to what a Montessori material has to do: be correct, be beautiful, and stay out of the way of the Child.

How it is held
Your school's records are held on managed cloud infrastructure in the United States. We take daily encrypted backups, stored separately from the platform and deleted after 30 days, and every connection to Attend is encrypted. Each school's records are kept separate from every other school's, and access is controlled by role, enforced by the platform itself. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification — we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Privacy and terms
Our privacy policy, terms of service and data processing agreement are published and in effect, effective August 26, 2026. All three — and our FERPA and COPPA position — are linked from every page footer, starting with the privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting
While your account is active, retention is your school's decision, not ours, and records can be exported from inside the product at any time. If a school closes its account, we hold records for 90 days so it can still export or reactivate, then delete or anonymize them — or your school can ask us to delete sooner. Backups are encrypted and deleted automatically after 30 days. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
